Terms of Use

These terms describe how the CyberTECT website, free Control Checks, articles and enquiry features may be used.

Effective: July 22, 2026

01

Acceptance of these terms

By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website. CyberTECT may update these terms as the site and services evolve.

02

General information—not individualized advice

Website content is provided for general information and educational purposes. It is not a legal opinion, privacy opinion, formal audit, penetration test, forensic investigation, compliance certification, insurance assessment or substitute for advice from a qualified professional who has reviewed the organization’s circumstances.

Cybersecurity, technology, laws, platform capabilities and government guidance change. CyberTECT works to keep material useful, but does not promise that every page will always be complete, current or applicable to every organization.

03

Free interactive Control Checks

Free Control Checks use a limited set of self-reported answers to provide a directional result. They do not independently verify accounts, configurations, contracts, backups, staff practices or other evidence. A favourable result is not proof of security or compliance, and a concerning result does not by itself establish that a breach or failure has occurred.

04

Professional services require a separate scope

Submitting a form, booking a consultation or using a free Control Check does not create a client relationship. Paid work begins only after the parties agree to the service, responsibilities, exclusions, price and other applicable terms in writing.

CyberTECT may work alongside technology providers, lawyers, insurers, accountants or other advisors, but does not replace their professional responsibilities unless a specific task is expressly included in CyberTECT’s written scope.

05

No guarantee of prevention or uninterrupted operation

No control, product, provider, Review or Validation eliminates all digital risk. CyberTECT does not guarantee that an incident, loss, unauthorized access, service interruption or recovery problem will not occur. Findings and tests describe observed conditions within an agreed scope and at a particular point in time.

06

Permitted use

You may use the website for lawful business, educational and personal-information purposes. You may not interfere with site operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious material, misuse the forms, impersonate another person, or use the website to violate another person’s rights.

07

Content ownership and external links

Unless otherwise identified, CyberTECT owns or is authorized to use the website’s original text, design, branding and interactive material. You may link to public pages and quote short portions with attribution. Republishing substantial content, removing attribution or presenting CyberTECT material as your own requires written permission.

External links are provided for context or convenience. CyberTECT does not control or endorse every statement, service, security practice or future change on a third-party website.

08

Availability and limitation

The website is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, CyberTECT is not responsible for decisions, losses or damages caused solely by relying on general website content, a free Control Check, an external website, or an interruption in website availability.

Nothing in these terms excludes obligations or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

09
