CyberTECT helps small businesses, professional offices and community organizations understand digital risk, strengthen control and make proportionate decisions—without assuming they have enterprise budgets or an internal security team.
The reason behind the work
CyberTECT started with the people least served by conventional cybersecurity.
Small companies face an uphill battle. Sole proprietors, family-run operations and small teams often work with limited budgets, limited technical support and very little time to evaluate cybersecurity, data protection, artificial intelligence or the growing number of vendors connected to their operations.
The risks are real, but much of the available guidance assumes a larger organization with dedicated staff and money to spare. In rural communities, the need for digital protection can be even easier to overlook until an account, provider, payment process or important file becomes unavailable.
CyberTECT was created to help close that gap: make risk understandable, identify what matters most and build protection around the way the organization actually operates.

CyberTECT has spearheaded a funded cybersecurity initiative supporting Stirling-Rawdon businesses, seniors and families through education, assessment and community outreach.
Beyond the business
Digital risk affects the whole community.
Rural communities include many seniors and families who increasingly depend on online services while facing scams, account theft, privacy risks and other threats that can be difficult to recognize. Children are also growing up in connected environments that many parents never experienced themselves.
That is why CyberTECT’s purpose extends beyond selling services. Community education and practical guidance help residents recognize risk earlier, make safer decisions and know where to turn when something does not look right.
